| Step-by-Step
Instructions |
Start
by aligning your first board. Typically parallel to the house
and 1/4 away from siding. Attach with screws on the side closest
to the house at every joist, but the outside edge/joist.
|
 |
|
| Your
board is specially grooved on both sides to allow easy installation. |
 |
| Insert
plastic biscuit into the groove and secure to the joist by using
the stainless steel screw provided. Go straight down through the
hole in the center of the biscuit and use a clutch on your drill
to avoid over tightening |
 |
| Continue
installation by adding biscuits at each joist down the length of
the board and then sliding the next board into place. Finish by
screwing down the outside edge of the last board. If cold when laying
leave extra biscuit as shown, if warm leave a little over hang.
Expansion and contraction can occur with temperature change and
this system allows the board to move linearly and not affect its
performance. |
 |
| If
decking a large area and you need to join two boards end to end,
use a heat gun or heat source to warm both ends of the boards and
then stick together. You can still see a slight seam, but the board
still moves as one and is less noticeable. |
